Photography has always been a big part of my life- Growing up someone in my family always had a camera in hand and I would grab mine at any chance and take photos of any occasion, Holidays, Birthdays, School, Vacations etc.
In 1998 I met my husband Dave online, moved to North Carolina and in the spring of 1999 our daughter Marissa was born. We then moved back to Virginia. With the birth of my daughter my passion of photography into making memories through scrapbooking. I have created several scrapbooks every year since, and have also become a scrapbook consultant. In early 2003 I decided to take my photography one step further and made a website. The majority were family and landscape photographs taken traveling from Virginia to New York, in fact a lot of my work was taken in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. I love capturing the sense of history.
Late in 2003 I found out we were expecting our second child in mid 2004. At that point I decided to put photography and the dream of a business on the back burner for now. About a year ago I decided to start pursuing my dream once again, I started by buying a Nikon N75 slr and shooting very often-slowly building my portfolio. I also made the choice to enroll in the New York Institute of Photography. Thanks to them I have learned so much! Recently I made another big step in the pursue of following my dream, I purchased a Nikon D80. I now shoot everything digital, unless the client is wanting film! I use a variety of programs to edit, create, and work on my website, which I update very often! I currently take landscape, candid, wedding, nature, and children portraits, but am really interested in venturing into expanding into maternity and newborns. Using a portable backdrop and lighting system allows for on location or in studio shoots. In the future I plan on studying web design.
My family is my true inspiration and without them my photography would mean nothing. I am first a wife, mom, and then a photographer. I am currently a stay at home mom, and love being able to raise my own children. Being able to stay home makes it a lot easier to work on expanding my photography! "There is always a memory to cherish and capturing those tiny moments is what I am here for!" "Capture those memories with a photograph!"
